Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

I experienced a lifelong dream of mine last fall to stay at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Growing up, we always took trips around the monorail stopping to see all the beauty and magic within each of these Disney Deluxe properties.

Disney's Grand Floridian opened in 1988 and sits in the most coveted location right beside Disney's Magic Kingdom. This resort has everything you could want and more. One of my favorite moments is simply walking into the lobby and taking it all in- the beautiful flower arrangements and tilting your head upwards to see the majesty of the chandeliers.

Our room had practically perfect porch with a view of the monorail. We watched it come and go morning, noon, and night. We had two queen beds and a couch that turned into a small bed. Baby girl was still in a crib and Disney is always willing to provide a crib or pack-n-play for the room. We thoroughly enjoyed the room.

We took advantage of many of the resort amenities because we intentionally took an entire day to stay and enjoy all the resort had to offer. The pool was the biggest hit with the kids. A large slide and engaged cast members playing games and doing activities on a regular cadence. There is also a large splash pad type area where the kids can move about freely with all types of water opportunities.

Michael and I enjoyed the Beaches Pool Bar & Grill with many yummy treats and drinks. Of course, Michael did the slide many times too!

The Grand Floridian is a premiere dining location with many many options. Guests from all over Walt Disney World come to the Grand Floridian to eat and be entertained. We took advantage of the character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. Mary Poppins, Alice, The Mad Hatter, Tigger, and Winnie the Pooh all took time to say hello to the kids and take pictures. Our kids are still deciding whether they like these characters or not!

My goal is to stay at all the Disney properties for many reasons but especially to help our friends and clients enjoy their trips even more. Always here to answer questions and help you plan your next trip!
