Chicago Architecture River Cruise

Updated: Aug 29, 2019

Chicago in the summer has to be one of the greatest American cities. Last year when Morgann and I visited she declared that we might need to live there for some period of time. You can guess who has not visited Chicago during the winter.

My latest trip to Chicago was one of my very favorites. I have been many times and have done a wide range of things from helping to host world leaders at the NATO Summit in 2012 to briefing Oprah before President and Mrs. Obama went on to record an episode for the final season of the Oprah Winfrey Show. This trip was a little more casual and we were able to enjoy all the most popular sights. We visited Navy Pier, the Bean, the Museum of Science and Technology, took in a Cubs game, and several tours.

The Chicago must-do is the Architecture Tour. This trip we went with Shoreline Sightseeing and had a wonderful trip. What some may not know about Chicago is the rich history of the many buildings that surround the river. Many of those buildings have histories that are intertwined and some buildings were inspired by their neighbors or other buildings around the globe. The Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) still holds the title of "tallest building in Chicago" and comes in second in the United States. Aqua, Tribune Tower, 875 North Michigan, and the famous Marina City were some of our favorites.

Next time you are in Chicago be sure to take the boat tour. Be sure to reach out to us and let us help you plan your next vacation to Chicago or whatever destination you have in mind.
