Every mom, dad, grandma and uncle has caved to the exhausted cry of a beloved child who has run out of gas at the end of a long day on vacation. Whether it be for naps, speed walks to the next attraction, or a slow stroll as a park closes a stroller can be a huge help to families when traveling to Walt Disney World. This week, Disney announced new policy that will no longer allow some larger strollers (and wagons) in Disney Parks. Most strollers were not effected including our preferred City Mini Double. Let me know if you have questions about the new policy.
Renting a stroller can be a smooth process! We have always worked with Kingdom Strollers. The stroller will be at the Walt Disney World Resort upon arrival and can be left there when it is time to depart. In most cases there will be an easy pick-up and drop-off at the bell services location near the front desk. Once the stroller is in hand it is easy to move all over the Disney property. Most fold simply and quickly to hop on and off the bus or navigate whatever any roadblocks encountered.
In our personal experience, there are 3 reasons all parents need to rent a stroller:
1. Kids need rest. After hours of riding, fun, and excitement the kids crash quickly and hard. Having the stroller allows kids the opportunity to lay down and take the nap that is critical to the whole family's mental health. Even the kids who do not take naps benefit from having a place to relax and take rest time.
2. So much stuff. Our stroller is essentially a rolling Mary Poppins bag. We can pull almost anything out of it by the end of the week. Diaper, umbrella, cheese stick, floss, bubble machine, you name it! Jokes aside, between diapers, snacks, and sleep aides like blankets and stuffed animals families need somewhere to call their roaming home base.
3. Walking required. No way around it. To get from Point A to Point B walking will be required. This can be taxing on fit adults much less the kiddos. Everyone will be happy a stroller was rented.
There are many options for stroller rentals. Strollers can be rented inside of the Walt Disney World and through many outside vendors. Some families choose to bring their own personal strollers. This is a great option for many. We believe the City Mini Double or City Mini Single is the perfect park stroller because it allows the kids to sit up or lay down and because of the ample storage.
Do not hesitate to reach out and ask any question that comes to mind. Happy strolling!
